CPE Jacket Policy

Dear Parents & Guardians,

          Several of you have inquired about the new hoodie/sweatshirt/jacket policy. I would like to explain the policy further by offering you some examples below:

• Hoodies - are considered to be a sweatshirt with a hood attached. THESE ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO BE WORN ON CAMPUS.
• Sweaters - Sweaters ARE ALLOWED to be worn. A sweater is made of the same material as a hoodie, but does not have a hood attached. A cardigan is a type of sweater and is allowed in the approved colors. These need to be either solid navy, solid black, or the school spirit sweatshirt that will go on sale next month.
• Lightweight Jackets - a jacket that has material that is similar to the thickness of a sweater. These jackets CAN NOT have a hood. They may have a zipper. These will be allowed to be worn but only in a solid navy and solid black color.
• Outerwear - This is a jacket that is made of a thicker material and is made for cold temperatures. Outerwear is ONLY allowed outdoors. Classrooms and hallways are climate controlled to keep students cool during the summer and warm during the winter. Heavy jackets are not needed in the building because of this. When students are going outside, they will be allowed to have their outerwear on.
